His work is defined by a commitment to compelling narratives and high-impact visual production.

John Morand is a cornerstone of the Richmond, Virginia, music scene and the co-founder of the legendary Sound of Music Studios. With a career spanning over three decades, Morand has earned a reputation as a versatile "sound wizard" and platinum-level producer capable of navigating everything from gritty punk to polished pop.
A pioneer of the "High Tech, Lo-Fi" movement, John has worked with an incredibly diverse roster of talent, famously claiming to be the only person to have recorded both Hanson and GWAR. His extensive credits include sessions with Sparklehorse, Lamb of God, Cracker, Joan Osborne, and D’Angelo.
Beyond his mastery of analog tape and modern digital production, Morand is also a multi-instrumentalist, video producer, and educator. Known for his infectious energy and "spacy good humor," he remains a dedicated advocate for the Richmond creative community, steering Sound of Music through multiple evolutions to remain a premier destination for local and international artists alike.

Alex is a music video director and documentarian based in Richmond, VA. Having previously been a frontman for the hip-hop groove rock band Too Indecent, his added insight in collaborating with musicians results in dynamic visualizations with an emphasis on storytelling. Through his ability to package a musician’s identity into authentic yet original content, artists are able to have significant brand recognition that they can also be proud of. By focusing on and relating to the people at the center of the story, there’s no need to sacrifice style or substance.
